Pesto Parmesan Stars – Before and After

This morning I made these for a Christmas dinner party… “Pesto Parmesan Stars”. Puffed pastry with pesto and parmesan cheese, cut out into stars and baked. So good. I had my hands full and was walking out to the car to leave and klutzy me tripped on the uneven sidewalk…

My beautiful platter my bestie Lisa bought me on her Honeymoon in Hawaii 20 years ago… smashed. Pesto stars… ruined. Christmas gift (a candle in a glass jar)….. shattered. my knees… swollen. My hand…. split open.

At least I didn’t break the wine.

I went to a baby shower at work. Yes, another potluck. The best thing…. ORANGE SODA! I hardly ever drink soda, and having some Orange Soda was SPECTACTULAR! Seriously good stuff.

We had a “taco bar” potluck at work today. Jody bought the fresh taco shells, I made the shredded beef, everyone brought one ingredient and we made huge, delicious tostados/taco salads.

It’s a beautiful autumn day in Santa Cruz, so at lunchtime I headed downtown to Zoccoli’s on Pacific Avenue for a sandwich.

This might be my favorite sandwich ever. Warm grilled chicken, pesto, roasted peppers and swiss cheese. I had good intentions of only eating half and saving the other half for dinner. I ate every bite.

First a walk at Seabright.

I practically had the whole beach to myself.

On my way back to work, I stopped at Betty Burgers.

So. Good. They have awesome sweet potato fries and dipping sauce too… but I wasn’t “that” hungry, so I used a little self-control and just got a burger. It was delicious.
